The Performative is a tool created for concert violinist Joanna Kurkowicz to perform and record a sequence of interactive music visualization to the music of Arvo Pärt.
The premiere performance, titled "Pärt_Vasarely," occurred at the "Massaging Media" conference in Boston in 2002 (visual and motion design by Jan Kubasiewicz; technical support by Teresa Nakra and DK Jang).
This video, titled "Loop_B," was recorded using the newer version of the "Performative," coded by Scott Murray in processing in 2011. "Loop_B" was shown on a single display at the retrospective exhibition of Jan Kubasiewicz's work entitled "metaGeometry" at the KOBRO Gallery at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Poland, 2011.
